The Gathering 2009 will take place in Holyrood Park, Edinburgh, Scotland on July 25 & 26, 2009.

The Gathering will take the form of an International Clan Gathering and the largest Highland Games ever held in Scotland, and will be one of the key events of "Homecoming Scotland."  The Clan Parade up the Royal Mile will take place on Saturday evening, July 25, culminating in a unique Clan Pageant on the magnificent esplanade of Edinburgh Castle on that evening.

The High Council is making plans for the world-wide Clan Donald contingent to attend and to be a real "presence" at this historical event.  Our Chiefs Tour for 2009 will be based around this Gathering and Highland Games, and will likely include day trips from Edinburgh to other areas of Clan Donald interest and history.

and will check out on Tuesday, July 28.

make their own accommodation plans to attend this historic event. 

If you do make your own hotel arrangements, you will still be able to join us in the Clan Tent during the Highland Games, and purchase your own Passport

directly from The Gathering 2009 official web site, available in March of 2008.

If you are currently registered for this Tour:

All participants must have a Gathering 2009 "Passport," which is not the travel passport issued by your country of residence, but consists of your admittance tickets to all events during The Gathering 2009...the two-day Highland Games, the Clan Parade up the Royal Mile to Edinburgh Castle and the Clan Pageant to be held on the esplanade of Edinburgh Castle.  Because there is very limited space available during the Clan Pageant, and the expected high turnout for this event, these "passports" go on sale in March of 2008, and must be paid for when ordered to insure our admittance as a group to these events.

Your Gathering Passport will be given to you as part of your packet of information when you arrive in Scotland.
